Rules & Policies
Employment with the County is administered
according to the rules of the County Civil Service System
which was established by a vote of the citizens of the
county. The Civil
Service Rules provide for such
matters as the recruitment and appointment process, employee
compensation, probationary periods, layoff provisions,
and discipline and appeal procedures.
The Nepotism
Policy asserts the County’s
right to refuse to appoint a person to a position in
the same department, division or facility where his/her
relationship to another employee has the potential for
creating an adverse impact on supervision, safety, security
or morale, or involves a potential conflict of interest.
