APPLICATION-ON-FILE
Santa Barbara County invites you to file a general-purpose
on-line employment application that will remain active
in our database for at least a year. Unlike other applications
for specific recruitments, you may update the "Application-On-File"
at anytime after final submission. This application
is not for a specific job opening, but may be helpful
in identifying and applying for future job openings
which match your skills.
If you submit an "Application-on-File":
| 1. You will have all of your employment history
ready to copy into another application for any future
recruitment for which you wish to apply. With just
a few keystrokes, you will be able to transfer the
information you enter today into new applications
for specific recruitments that open in the future.
This will save you time and take the stress out
of completing another application. |
| 2. You may update your "Application-On-File"
at any time and submit it again. |
| 3. The information from your on-line application
will be stored in our on-line database. The Personnel
Department may use key words searches of the database
to identify applicants for upcoming recruitments.
If we do, we will notify applicants who appear to
meet the employment standards about the upcoming
recruitment. This service may alert you to a recruitment
for a new and exciting job! |
To enter your "Application-On-File":
| 1. Scroll down to the bottom of this screen and
click on "Register and fill out an Application-On-File".
|
| 2. Complete the Registration and record your UserID
and Password for future use. |
| 3. Complete your application, including your resume
if you wish. |
| 4. Submit your application over the internet in
the Final Part. |
| 5. Update this application at any time by returning
to the Current Employment Opportunities page and
clicking on "Complete / Review Ap". |
Your application will remain in
our database for at least one year from the time of
submission or the last update.
To submit an application for a
specific recruitment at a later time:
| 1. Use your Password and User ID to retrieve your
Application-On-File |
| 2. Select the "Application-On-File"
to copy the information into the new application |
| 3. Make modifications to the new application.
At a minimum you must resubmit parts 2 and 5. |
| 4. Submit your application for the specific recruitment. |
Keyword Searches:
When we search the database using a key word search,
we will look for key words in each application. This
will help us identify potential applicants for upcoming
recruitments. Key words might include "office manager"
or "Excel" if we were searching for a Departmental
Assistant, "JAVA" for a programmer, "land
use" for a Planner, "interview" for an
Eligibility Worker, or "manager" for a Director.
Since we may not always conduct a key word search and
alert potential applicants in the database about a recruitment,
it is up to you to watch for recruitment openings and
submit an application during the recruitment period.
We will correspond with
you via e-mail. If your e-mail address changes
or you wish to update your application-on-file, you
can do so, again gaining access with your UserID and
Password. (You must remember your Password and User
ID to make changes or updates!)
The County of Santa Barbara is
pleased that you are interested in joining our team
of employees dedicated to providing the best service
to the residents of our county.
